antique projectors at the Paramount

Another shot from a walking tour of the Paramount Theater, an unparalleled deco building.  These projectors still work and are used in other old theaters in California.

  1. Isn't that great! Nice color, nice composition. That equipment looks, ahem, mature.

  2. Wow, you just don't see that anymore. I remember how the projectors (I don't know if it was this type or not) used to eat up the film when you were watching a movie.

  5. I miss the sound of old time projectors! In time I'll probably miss the sound of car engines in some nostalgic way too (as they become electrified and silent)Love this building..

  9. Seems like you and I were on the same track with old cameras and old theaters this week. This is a lovely shot. The stained glass in the background is just great.
