Chinatown restaurant

This restaurant is located in Chinatown at 7th and Franklin just east of Broadway. The core of this community is about eight blocks square.  This building has been here for ages as its sagging balcony attests to.  In the nearby markets you can buy the most unusual produce that you won't find anywhere else.

  1. Carolyn,
So fun to discover your blog tonight and spend some pleasant time looking through this month's photos. Although I live in Seattle now and publish Seattle Daily Photo, I lived in the East Bay for 20 years and am in the area visiting family for Christmas. In fact this afternoon my daughter and I ate at Lois the Pie Queen's. I look forward to visiting Oakland through your lens and enjoying sights familiar and not familiar (loved seeing the new church near Lake Merritt). I used to walk around Lake Merritt and now I walk around Seattle's Greenlake. We used to sail out the Estuary and eat at Jack London Square, now we sail out of Elliott Bay and eat at Shilshole Marina...container cranes and vintage buildings. . .similarities abound. Have fun with your blog, and welcome to the CDPB family!
